Established in 1866, Wesley College is an internationally recognised Uniting Church coeducational school with 3,150 students on three metropolitan sites.

To support growth within the program, applications are invited from outstanding teachers for the positions of Teacher | Wesley at Clunes (up to 2.2 FTE).                            

The Wesley at Clunes Residential Learning Village is situated in the township of Clunes, 35km north of Ballarat.  These positions are to meet the needs of the expanding range of programs offered at Clunes.  Applicants with experience in the arts/design, social and emotional learning, interdisciplinary learning, sustainability and Physical and Health Education are encouraged to apply.

The positons can either be offered as non-residential / residential and either full time / part time commencing Term 3, 2018.

In making this appointment, the College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in school teaching roles, preferably within middle school and/or residential educational contexts
  • A strong background managing students in practical and applied learning settings
  • Success as a pastoral leader, able to lead students in maintaining student well-being
  • Understanding of the development and educational needs of adolescents
  • A proven ability to inspire students and to engage staff, parents and the community
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and/or experience with the International Baccalaureate Programmes
  • A personal presence and highly effective communication skills in relationships with students, staff and parents
  • A capacity to enjoy the rich diversity of daily life at the school and to contribute to the overall success of the program
  • An understanding and commitment to a residential learning environment and a willingness to participate in student activities outside normal hours
