Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 152 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,350 students aged between 3 and 18 years across three main campuses.                       

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Registered Nurses (Division 1) for casual positions at our Learning in Residence, a residential facility housing students from years 10 – 12, and is adjacent to the Senior School on the Glen Waverley campus. 

Learning in Residence requires a Nurse or nurses to fill a variety of shift across the following times - 7 days per week from 6:30am until 8:30am and 5:30pm to 8:30pm. In your application you should nominate which of these shifts that you would be willing to work.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending to medical needs of residential students and staff that arise over night
  • Booking medical and allied health appointments for residential students
  • Providing primary/tertiary health care to patients appropriate to the clinical assessment
  • Liaising with parents/guardians, family, teachers and Heads of School as necessary about the health needs of patients
  • Assisting with staff education in first aid and equipment use
  • Collecting and collating statistics related to attendance, illness and injury
  • Ordering medication and medical supplies within budget

We are looking for applicants with strong communication and database skills. The role will require database entry and maintenance of medical records, including software competency such as Microsoft and Google suite. An awareness of compliance regulations for Anaphylaxis, Asthma and other medical conditions is essential. You must hold, or be prepared to obtain a Working with Children Check (Victoria) and a Police Records Check.
