Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 152 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,350 students aged between 3 and 18 years across three main campuses.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Registered Nurses (Division 1) for a permanent part time position in our Health Centre at our St Kilda Road Junior School campus. In this role you will provide professional and up-to-date health care and first aid management to students from Early Childhood Learning Centre to Grade 4.  This position is 2 days per week 10:00am– 2:30pm, during school term weeks.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing primary/tertiary health care to patients appropriate to the clinical assessment
  • Liaising with parents/guardians, family, teachers and Heads of School as necessary about the health needs of patients
  • Assisting with staff education in first aid and equipment use
  • Collecting and collating statistics related to attendance, illness and injury
  • Providing administrative support in the Health Centre including filing of Staff and Student Medical Records
  • Policy and procedure development for the management of the Health Centre
  • Management of anaphylaxis and asthma processes and plans
  • Ordering medication and medical supplies within budget

We are looking for applicants with strong communication and database skills. The role will require database entry and maintenance of medical records. An awareness of compliance regulations for Anaphylaxis, Asthma and other medical conditions is essential. You must hold, or be prepared to obtain a Working with Children Check (Victoria) and a Police Records Check.

The role is available for commencement at the beginning of 2019.
