Established in 2000, WesleyCollege provides an 8-week residential program for Year 9 students. The focus for the program is upon education of the whole person. Emphasis is given to experiential learning, independent inquiry and community living.                                          

Applications are invited from experienced and passionate counsellors for a part time position at our Residential Learning Village in the township of Clunes, 35km north of Ballarat.  This position is available for commencement in early Term 2 or an earlier date as mutually agreed.                       

The role of the counsellor is to provide psychological services to the campus community of students associated with the campus.  In making this appointment, the College is seeking applicants who, among other qualities, can demonstrate:

  • Experience providing specialist counselling to students with regards to personal, emotional, social and intellectual difficulties
  • Experience providing counselling support for staff members with regard to personal, emotional, professional and social difficulties
  • The ability to work in a climate of confidentiality
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Qualifications and registration as a psychologist or other formal training as a counsellor 

This is a part time position (10 hrs per week) which will involve working Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings during school term weeks. However the days and hours worked may be negotiated with the successful candidate.
