CAMP MALLANA: RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT POSITIONS 2020

Including a Traineeship Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation

Wesley College's Camp Mallana is located on the Gippsland lakes, near Bairnsdale. Two Residential Assistant positions are available from Term 1, 2020. The period of employment is four school terms. This may be the first step into an outdoor, environmental or teaching career, or simply taken as a GAP year.

Assistants are required to enrol in a Traineeship program - Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation. The College will pay the enrolment and core study costs.  Note: this program is not available for those who have successfully completed an equivalent or higher level qualification.

The Residential Assistant's role is one of responsibility and requires initiative, enthusiasm, and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team. This role also involves the maintenance and preparation of equipment, food ordering and assisting with student supervision during outdoor and environmental activities such as sailing, kayaking, entry-level hiking, and camping.

The site program provides programs for years 6 and 10 students from the Wesley College campuses.  For a broad range of experiences, Resident Assistants working at Mallana may also be rostered to work for a short period of time at one of the other Outdoor Education sites: Lochend, near Portland, or Chum Creek, near Healesville.

For further information, contact Ben Cook on 51 538 000 or 0429 955 026.
