Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes, and the Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School in the Kimberley, Western Australia.
Expressions of interest are invited for the casual position of Wesley Parents Glen Waverley (WPGW) Coordinator based at the Glen Waverley Campus.
The primary function of this role is to coordinate the GW Second Hand Uniform Shop (SHUS) and also to provide some administration support to WPGW.
In making this appointment, the College, in conjunction with the WPGW association is seeking applicants that meet the following criteria
- Retail experience
- The ability to roster and manage a supportive group of volunteers
- General financial skills including banking, reconciliations, processing of payments to vendors/parents
- General administrative duties, including event organisation and planning
- An interest in working with a well established school community group
The hours of the SHUS are
- Tuesdays - 8:00am - 10:00am
- Wednesdays & Fridays - 2:00pm - 4:00pm
The role requires the successful applicant to be available during some, but not all, shop opening hours. It is estimated that the required hours each week would fluctuate according to the demand.
The applicant would also need to be available outside of shop opening hours to facilitate many of the functions required as listed above without the interruption from customers.
Estimate 10 hours / week during term. This position will be initially offered as a casual role.
