Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, and a Year 9 residential campus at Clunes.
Wesley College is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader as Head of Student Wellbeing – Houses. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Head of Clunes and Head of Wellbeing- Transition on the overall pastoral care and wellbeing of students, coordination of House Team Leaders, and supporting staff wellbeing.
The Head of Student Wellbeing - Houses is a member of the Clunes Leadership Team with the goal to cultivate an environment where students can exercise and develop their rights and responsibilities, ensuring they feel a strong sense of pride and belonging.
Some responsibilities of this role are:
- To work alongside the Head of Student Wellbeing - Transition supporting the overall pastoral care and wellbeing of students, with a focus on the needs of either female or male students
- To coordinate the House Leaders Team
- To work alongside the Head of Student Wellbeing - Transition to support student well-being
- To maintain key relationships with local traders in support of student houses
- To work collaboratively as a member of the Clunes Leadership Team, contributing to a climate where student rights and responsibilities are acknowledged and where students feel a sense of pride and belonging.
This position is full time for a 3-year contract that includes a 0.5 FTE teaching load. The successful candidate will commence Term 1, 2025 (23 January 2025). This role requires the successful candidate to reside in residence on the Clunes campus. This accommodation is provided by the College.

- Tertiary qualifications in education and current registration with the Victoria Institute of Teaching.
- Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
