Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 155 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,400+ students aged between 3 and 18 years across three main campuses.
In 2016, Wesley has established Learning in Residence, a residential facility that is built adjacent to the Senior School on the Glen Waverley campus. This exciting, multipurpose, Years 9-12, residential development provides a real-life context for holistic experiential learning and builds on the rich history of such residential experiences at Wesley – a century of boarding, decades of Outdoor Education and the highly acclaimed residential learning programs in Clunes.
Applications are invited for the role of Residential Mentor for a Boys residence in the College's Learning in Residence Boarding program, supervising male boarders in Years 7 to 10. This is a full-time ongoing position, based at our Glen Waverley Campus.
This position comes with accommodation in a staff residence close to campus.
The Residential Mentor role is one of responsibility and requires initiative, enthusiasm, and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team. The role involves role modelling, supervision and support to the students, including overnights across a 7-day roster. You would be expected to generate a friendly and warm manner towards the students and also creating a collegial environment within the GW Middle and Senior Schools and in particular the Residence under your care. Previous experience in working with younger-aged boarders (Years 7-10) is necessary for this role. Onsite accommodation, separate to the student residences is available for staff if required.
A driver's licence and a First Aid certificate are desirable and a Working With Children Check and Police Check are essential.
Applications close on Friday 5 September 2025.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews may commence prior to the application close date.
