Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With over 3,400 students from Early Childhood to Year 12, the College operates across three metropolitan campuses – St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley, and Elsternwick – as well as outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana, and Lochend, and a Year 9 residential campus in Clunes.
The Wesley College at Clunes residential program provides our Year 9 students with the opportunity to learn about themselves, the wider community and our Australian culture in the unique setting of the small Victorian town of Clunes, 35 kilometres northwest of Ballarat. The focus for the 8-week program is upon education of the whole person. Emphasis is given to experiential learning, independent inquiry and community living.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join our team at our Clunes campus on a permanent part-time basis (0.2 FTE-One day per week). Working largely autonomously, this role supports the Head of Clunes and the Leadership team with the smooth and efficient running of the residential campus.
The Administrative Assistant will manage a broad range of responsibilities, including campus administration and reception, coordinating student enrolments and transitions, supporting communications, handling finance and purchasing processes, and liaising with staff, parents, community members, and external providers. The role also oversees campus facilities administration, vehicle compliance, and the booking systems for campus spaces.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management (experience with school databases desirable).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and the wider community.
- Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A current Working With Children Check and National Police Certificate.
