Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading coeducational independent schools. With over 3,400 students from Early Learning to Year 12 across three metropolitan campuses, the College provides a rich educational experience that values excellence, inclusivity, and holistic development.
We are seeking experienced and dedicated School Production Directors for short-term casual roles to lead the planning, delivery, and coordination of one of the College's annual productions. Multiple casual positions are available across the St Kilda Road and Glen Waverley Campuses. These roles play a key part in supporting student growth, engagement, and wellbeing through the performing arts, aligned with Wesley's values of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of College productions, ensuring high artistic and organisational standards.
- Provide creative direction, mentorship, and guidance to students and production teams.
- Manage production schedules, resources, and logistics efficiently.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with staff, students, and parents to ensure smooth production delivery.
- Promote the College's performing arts program through assemblies, newsletters, and campus events.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in theatre direction and production management, ideally in educational or youth settings.
- Strong knowledge of stagecraft, script interpretation, design, and performance techniques.
- Proven leadership, organisational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to student development, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Creative, adaptive, and solution-focused approach to artistic challenges.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Performing Arts, Theatre, Education, or related discipline (highly regarded).
