Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading co-educational independent schools. With over 3,400 students from Early Learning to Year 12 across three metropolitan campuses, outdoor education sites, and a Year 9 residential campus, the College provides a rich educational experience that values excellence, inclusivity, and holistic development.
We are seeking an experienced People & Culture Coordinator to join our People & Culture team, working across our Melbourne campuses. This is a 1.0 FTE temporary position, commencing 16 February 2026 and concluding 20 November 2026. The role provides operational and administrative support to line managers and staff, contributing to the delivery of high-quality P&C services and ensuring compliance with College policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support to line managers and staff on recruitment, induction, employee lifecycle processes, leave, separations, and HRIS management.
- Help manage the College's e-recruitment system (Springboard) end-to-end, including advertisements, correspondence, and reporting.
- Assist with maintaining and monitor compliance records, including VIT registration, Working with Children Checks, Anaphylaxis, and Child Protection requirements.
- Maintain accurate staff records on the College's HRIS.
- Support P&C projects, service improvements, and operational initiatives.
- Demonstrate awareness of work health and safety requirements and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with child safety policies and actively promote the wellbeing of students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in People & Culture / Human Resource Management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a People & Culture / HR role, ideally in the education sector.
- Experience using HRIS, end-to-end recruitment systems, and learning management systems.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Understanding of Modern Awards, OH&S, Workcover, and Return to Work strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to client service.
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate (essential).
