Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading coeducational independent schools. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Campus Head of Sport to lead the delivery and administration of the co-curricular sports program at our Elsternwick Campus. This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) inclusive of a teaching load (0.46 FTE). The role is a Position of Responsibility (POR) for a term of 3 years commencing in Term 1, 2026 with a time allowance of (0.4 FTE). In addition, this role may include a POR of Faculty Coordinator – Physical Education (Year 7-9) with a time allowance of 0.14 FTE, subject to the successful candidates experience and preference.
It plays a key role in supporting student development, engagement, and wellbeing through high-quality sport participation, aligned with Wesley's values of teamwork, integrity, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall management and delivery of the Sports Program at the campus including fixtures, training schedules, and facilities.
- Collaborate with coaches, staff, and students to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing sporting culture.
- Mentor and guide coaches to ensure high standards of conduct, performance, and student engagement.
- Liaise with parents, campus leaders, and the Sports Directorate to ensure smooth program delivery.
- Promote the College's sports program through assemblies, newsletters, and campus activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (essential).
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in sports coaching or program management in a school setting.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing sports programs, logistics, and compliance.
- Proficiency in systems such as WiSE, TechOne, Clipboard, and Synergetic (highly desirable).
