Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading coeducational independent schools.
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Systems Librarian to join our Library Services team working at our Glen Waverley Campus. This is a 0.4 FTE job share temporary position, commencing in Term 3 2026 and concluding end of Term 4, 2026 (Start Date Flexible) with a possible extension into 2027. The role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery, maintenance, and enhancement of the College's library systems, including support of the booklist process and supporting ongoing development of the library website.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the College Library Management System (LMS)

Support Library staff with technical issues relating to library applications and digital resources

Assist with acquisitions processes for physical and digital resources including periodicals

Support reconciliation of purchases and expenditure records

Catalogue Library resources using established cataloguing standards and procedures

Maintain accurate bibliographic and holdings records within the LMS

Support metadata consistency and quality control across Library collections, including review and updating of inconsistent records

Support and maintain the campus booklist, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and timely updates.

Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the library website, utilising HTML and CSS skills.
Qualifications & Experience:

ALIA-recognised library qualifications.

Demonstrated experience managing and troubleshooting library systems in a school or similar environment.

Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS (desirable).

Understanding of user requirements for library systems within educational settings.

Strong organisational, documentation, and time management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and support staff.

Experience with Accessit, or similar systems (highly desirable).
