Job Description
Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading and most respected co-educational independent schools. With an enrolment of 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12, it comprises three metropolitan campuses in Melbourne, at St Kilda Road, Glen Waverley and Elsternwick, outdoor education sites at Chum Creek, Mallana and Lochend, and Year 9 residential campus at Clunes.
Commencing in 2027, the Head of Curriculum & Assessment Design is a senior College-wide leadership role responsible for shaping and overseeing the strategic direction and design of curriculum, assessment, feedback, and reporting practices. This role ensures that all curriculum and assessment initiatives are purposeful and responsive to student learning needs. The Head of Curriculum & Assessment Design promotes consistency and innovation while fostering collaborative and adaptive leadership. The role leads the College's exploration and implementation of future-focused curriculum and assessment practices.
The Head of Curriculum & Assessment Design will provide strategic leadership for curriculum design, assessment and reporting, ensuring alignment with the College's Learning and Teaching priorities, IB Frameworks and ACARA whilst managing the collection, analysis and visualisation of student data to inform leadership decisions and opportunities for interventions.
The role is part of the Learning & Teaching Team and reports to the Director of Learning. It works closely with the Heads of Learning & Teaching to coordinate and support Curriculum Coordinators, fostering collaboration across campuses.
This position is offered as a 3-year contract with the opportunity for renewal, and a permanent teaching role.
